Halloween Half Term at Blenheim Palace

By Cait Sweeney at

Discover a spooktacular October half term at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire from 20th October – 4th November.

From spooky storytelling to mini-beasts and fire performances to ghost trains, there is something ghoulishly fun for all the family to enjoy.

A must-visit for Ghost-hunters is the Spooky Tour of the Palace on Wednesday, 31st October, 5.30pm. This one-off after-dark tour will be full of chills and thrills!

In the Great Court a wicked wizard stilt-walker will be wandering along with fascinating fire performances as you head towards the Stables Courtyard to hear ghoulish tales and spooky storytelling to get you into the Halloween spirit.

Head outside to take the ghost train to the Pleasure Gardens and discover lurking monsters in the Marlborough Maze for a Halloween treat.

Get up close to real mini-beasts with Cotswolds, Amate Animalia, who will be bringing tarantulas, snakes and much more for an interactive visit.

Finally, Blenheim Palace will be hosting a frightfully fantastic fireworks display on Saturday, 3rd November as part of its brand-new Halloween celebrations.

In addition to petrifying pyrotechnics, there will be frightful light projections and the eerie evening will include plenty of thrills and chills with loads of terribly exciting paranormal activities.

Watch a witch take to the sky on a broomstick as she ‘flies’ across a trapeze, discover a levitating gargoyle human statue lurking amongst the crowd and be wowed by terribly tall Halloween Stilt Walkers featuring skeletons, zombies and even the Grim Reaper himself.

There will be gliding ghosts, weeping angels moving mysteriously around the Courtyard and a scary skeleton cycling on a penny-farthing.
Indulge in wickedly delicious food from hot-dogs and waffles to seasonal treats. Then, as darkness falls across the land, fantastic fireworks are close at hand.

Watch in awe as the sky lights up in a phantasmagorical flypast of spellbinding starbursts all choreographed to a spine-chilling soundtrack.

This year Blenheim Palace is pleased to be supporting Oxfam during this event and will be donating £2 per ticket and all parking to the charity.
