Mischief Movie Night at Oxford Playhouse

By Sarah Edwards

Mischief Theatre, the multi award-winning company behind the global smash hit comedy The Play That Goes Wrong, returns to Oxford Playhouse from 6 to 10 June for Mischief Movie Night, the improvised movie live on stage.

The show, which was nominated for the 2018 Olivier Award for ‘Best New Comedy’, stars the original cast and creators of The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery on stage, and BBC TV Christmas Specials A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong and Peter Pan Goes Wrong.

Mischief Movie Night invites the audience to direct the action: you suggest a genre, location and title and a movie is brought to life on stage, complete with rewinds, fast forwards, directors cuts and a live score. Starring them, directed by you, it’s a guaranteed comedy blockbuster!

‘It’s a joy to bring Mischief Movie Night to such welcoming venues, all of which have played to 100% capacity with our Goes Wrong shows. Returning to our improv roots is very special for us as this is where it all began. We’re very excited!’ Charlie Russell, Mischief Theatre

Mischief Movie Night is the latest production from Mischief Theatre, who have taken the world by storm with their hilarious brand of laugh out loud comedy. Mischief Theatre was founded in 2008 by a group of graduates of The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and began as an improvised comedy group.
