OxClean announce dates for Spring Clean 2018

By John Charlton

OxClean, the Oxford Civic Society initiative dedicated to keeping Oxford clean and tidy all year round have announced the dates for the weekend Spring Clean . Groups across Oxford will be coming together to clean, tidy and collect waste over the weekend of Friday 2, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 March.

The project aims to ensure that the beautiful city of Oxford is a welcoming and pleasant place for people to live, work and visit. OxClean works in partnership with Oxford City Council and local community groups and schools.

In 2017, over 80 groups from across the city took to the streets, public spaces and grotspots and cleaned up a large quantity of litter. As a result of their hard work, over 6 tonnes of litter plus a lot of flytip was removed from the streets and parks of Oxford. The sight of so many people out litter picking again raised awareness that a cleaner and tidier city is a better place to be.

Spring Clean Dates: Friday 2, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 March
