Oxfordshire’s tight labour market and low unemployment is creating major recruitment challenges for businesses. In response, employment charity Aspire Oxford is organising an employers’ conference designed to help companies meet their business needs through flexible recruitment. This ground-breaking conference is called “Unlocking Potential for Oxfordshire” and takes place on Wednesday 26th April 9.30-2pm at Unipart. The event is held in Responsible Business Week and is the first of its kind in Oxfordshire.
“Unlocking Potential for Oxfordshire” is free to attend and promises to be an inspiring experience for any businesses interested in finding out more about flexible recruitment. Employers attending can learn about the advice and in-work support available to give them confidence in recruiting from disadvantaged groups.
Companies will also be able to hear testimonials from an excellent line-up of guest speakers. Darren Burns from Timpson is the key note speaker and leading national companies including Pret a Manger and Land Securities will talk about their own experiences of successfully recruiting disadvantaged people. The conference also includes a networking lunch. All attendees will be given a free, practical guide on how to get started with flexible recruitment. Places for the conference are going fast, with delegates such as John Lewis, the flagship store for the new Westgate Shopping Centre, already signed up.
The conference is supported by the High Sheriff of Oxfordshire, JobCentrePlus and key members of the Responsible Business Group “Reciprocate”, including Allen Associates and Unipart.
