School children from The Blackbird Leys Academy Trust scooped a gold medal at the Blenheim Flower Show, matching their success at the show in 2014.
The medal was awarded by Sir Ian McKellen – who even signed the school visitors book as Gandalf.
The young gardeners lead tours of their garden, and answered questions about the different types of plants they had chosen.
One of the team said: “People really loved our tours and wrote some great comments in our visitors book. Even those of us who were a bit shy at the start soon became confident and ready to talk to the public. We even learnt some more facts about our plants.Doing the Blenheim Flower Show has taught us a lot of skills that will help us as adults and it is nice to know that a lot of people said that our garden was the highlight of the whole show.”
