Thousands flock to festival

The Common People festival held at South Parks in Oxford, showcased emerging and established talent from local musicians to international artists.

Artists including eighties pop icons Duran Duran, indie pop legends Primal Scream, Ghost Poet, Public Enemy and Gaz Coombes played on the main stage.

Emerging artists played on the uncommon stage and a hospitality Drum n Bass stage put on a variety of different acts and MCs to showcase some of the latest tunes and sounds.

This was a festival for different genres of music including Hip Hop RnB, Dance and Rock and Roll.
Festival goer Dan said: “We are here to see Primal Scream first and first and foremost. This seemed like the perfect day to come to a music festival, we all love music we are all music loving people. I was in a band called Expensive Habit it was bluesy rock and roll, from the 70s era. I’m from Hertfordshire originally and also live in New York, I’d also love to see Public Enemy and Ghost Poet as well.”

Festival goer Dean added: “There is a lovely vibe here. Great weather, great bands on tonight love Primal Scream and Public Enemy it’s really cool.”
Vienna Ditto who performed at the festival said: “It’s fantastic. We are very much an Oxford band and the best stage was the Uncommon Stage.”
